The Tannery

Curtume Minuano, located in Lindolfo Collor, in Rio Grande do Sul, has been operating for 51 years in the tanning of bovine hides and is today one of the largest tanneries in Brazil. With a tradition in the production of fur hides, leather for furniture, automotive leather, manufactured and natural carpets, Curtume Minuano is present in Brazil and exports most of its production to the main world markets, between Europe, America and Asia. 1,000 employees work at Curtume Minuano to guarantee quality and a high standard service for our customers.

Timeline

  • - 1972
    1972

    Industria de Peles Minuano in Lindolfo Collor (RS) was founded in 1972 by Herbert Oscar Enzweiler of the first family generation of the company.

  • - 1976
    1976

    With the first export of leather with fur to carpets, to the United States, a new era of Curtume Minuano begins

  • - 1980
    1980

    The second branch of activity of the Minuano Group is founded in Lindolfo Collor (RS): Calçados Malu, with a focus on women's shoes.

  • - 2003
    2003

    The third line of activity of the Minuano Group is born: Estofados Minuano, specialized in leather upholstery.

  • - 2009
    2009

    With one of its pillars being environmental responsibility, Curtume Minuano, together with two other partners, founds the organic fertilizer company Ilsa Brasil, focused on transforming scraps and leather waste into organic fertilizers.

  • - 2011
    2011

    Minuano tannery enters the automotive leather market once and for all, receiving IATF16949 (formerly TS16949) certification.

    2015

    Developed and produced by Minuano tannery, the Agreste rug receives the renowned international design award IF AWARDS.

    Surge um novo negócio a 1645 Leather Store, loja de couros acabados do curtume Minuano, especialista em couros para estofamentos e mobiliário.

    With a focus on the domestic market, another business of the group is born, Minuano Tapetes, a brand of leather rugs, with coverage throughout the entire national territory.

    Reinforcing the company's socioenvironmental commitment, the Minuano tannery earns the LWG - Leather Working Group certification.
